He is too young to conduct, isn’t he?

The Teresa Carreño Youth Orchestra contains the best high school musicians from Venezuela's life-changing music program, El Sistema. Led here by Gustavo Dudamel, they play Shostakovich's Symphony No. 10, 2nd movement, and Arturo Márquez' Danzón No. 2. I have to admit Gustavo Dudamel is a talented conductor. the Shostakovich's Symphony No.10 is not easy for conducting. But he can control the Orchestra , at the same time he also can let it to do him world like the music. yes, he is able to conductor because his music touched my heart, I can feel his conducting is powerful and he is a passion conducter. However, along with the advantages and disadvantages are also obvious. he is too young, When he was in when dealing with phrases, some music changes in the level of detail to be ignored. someplace is too fast even led to some timing is not enough. All in all, I think he needs to find a conductor to continue learning, rather than immediately began performing. Because he has many places to improve, he could gradually find his own style of command. So far he is not very suited to a professional conductor.

  1. That's a fair comment, Mengchan. Perhaps he should come under the guidance of a very experienced conductor whilst still conducting. Do you think that would be possible?
